Dr Moradpoor (PhD, MSc, BSc, CEH v.8, PGCert, MBCS) is a Lecturer in Cybersecurity and Networks and a member of the Centre for Distributed Computing, Networking and Security and The Cyber Academy at the Edinburgh Napier University.
She holds a PhD in Computer Systems and Networking from the University of Ulster, UK (2013), MSc in Computer Systems and Networking from the University of Greenwich, UK (2009) and BSc in Computer Software Engineering (2004). She is a member of British Computer Society (MBCS), a member of Certified Ethical Hackers (CEH) community and a fellow member of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
Naghmeh’s general research interests include security, Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention Systems, machine learning, evolutionary computing, mobile phone forensics, digital forensics, network resource management and next generation networks, systems and services. She is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH.v8) and her current area of research and publications are focused on employing machine learning for detection and classification of various cybersecurity attacks, IDS/IPS for Internet of Things (IoT), control systems security analysis & measures and forensic similarity hashes.
Naghmeh has also actively participated in public engagement. She has been invited to serve as a Technical Program Committee Member for many journals and conferences including Journal of Optical Switching and Networking (Elsevier/OSN), Security of Information and Networks (SIN) conferences, Women in Computing and Informatics (WCI) conferences, Complex Adaptive Systems conferences and Scottish Informatics & Computer Science Alliance (SICSA) PhD conferences. She was a Chair and principle organiser of the first Post Graduate Cyber Security (PGCS) symposium – 2016 sponsored by SICSA, and an organiser of ISIE-IAPSS 2017: Special Session on Industrial Automation and Process System’s Security for The 26th IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics. Naghmeh is also an organiser of International Workshop on Securing IoT Networks 2017 held in conjunction with The 2017 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things (iThings-2017). She was an invited speaker for Women In Science Festival (Dundee), pre- film Screening presentation for: "Transcendence" and a conference Chair for Security of Information and Networks (SIN) conference.
