Natalie Kerracher is currently working toward a
Ph.D. degree within the Centre for Information and Software Systems. Her
research interests lie in the broad area of Information Visualisation,
specifically the visualisation of dynamic (temporal) graphs. She holds an MA
(Hons) degree in Mental Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, and an MSc
in Software Technology for the Web from Edinburgh Napier University.
Information visualisation is the use of enhanced Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to communicate and interact with complex data sets such as social networks, multiattribute tables, and financial data. Pages of text and numbers are not the most effective way to communicate or understand information.
