Augoustinos Tsiros holds a PhD in the area of visual interaction for the control of feature-based sound synthesis, an MSc in Sound Design from the University of Edinburgh and a BEng in Multimedia Systems from Edinburgh Napier University. Augoustinos researches sensorimotor and data driven interaction methods and techniques for audio and multimodal applications. His research interests lie primarily in multimodal signal analysis, sound design for interactive media and cross-sensory mappings. He has experience in designing, conducting participatory studies for requirements gathering and the evaluation of multimodal interfaces. He leads the Interactive Audio and Sound Design for Interactive Media modules.

  • Information Visualisation
Information visualisation is the use of enhanced Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to communicate and interact with complex data sets such as social networks, multiattribute tables, and financial data. Pages of text and numbers are not the most effective way to communicate or understand information.
  • Interaction Design
Interaction Design is concerned with the design of interactive objects and spaces and with the delivery of high quality user experiences (UX). For example, expressive interaction describes the range of new forms of human-computer interaction that are made available through technologies based on...
  • Interactive Graphics and Simulation
  • Software Systems
The institute's expertise in software engineering encompasses the entire development lifecycle, and we focus on developing the approaches and tools to improve the engineering process of both emerging and widely used software systems.
