About Opportunity

The custom 24.4 channel 2.9 kW surround sound system can be used to auralise room acoustics, noise prediction and loudspeaker setups, in addition to location surround sound recordings, synthesised soundscapes and auditory displays.

Twenty four Genelec 8030A bi-amplified monitors and four Genelec 7070A active subwoofers provide a free field frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 kHz (± 2 dB). The Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) is a 48 channel Pro Tools HD system with 192 kHz interfaces, a second Mac runs Max 7.  Spectrafoo and a Neumann KU-100 are employed for measurement and analysis.  A
 Sound Devices Mix-Pre6 and Soundfield microphone are used for location recordings.
