The work of The Cyber Academy is all about engaging a wide range of stakeholders with interesting and provide new viewpoints.
Professor Bill Buchanan, who leads The Cyber Academy, has now released an on-line environment which integrates virtually ever cipher method for his on-line CipherCTF infrastructure. At present he has created 55 cipher methods, and covers the whole cipher alphabet from Affline to Vigenère.
The site is here.
The ciphers have been used for many engagement events, including with local schools, and focuses on creating engaging on-line content which encourages and stimulates new types of learning.
The Edinburgh Napier Security Society (ENUSEC>) has also been advancing a range of Cyber Security challenges, including for a recent Hackathon.
A key focus of the work is on the development of the vSoC+ environment, which is a collaboration with Satisnet, and aims to produce one of the most advanced training and research environments for Cyber Security, and will include industry standard systems (such as Linux, Windows, firewalls, IDSs, and so on) and tools (such as Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar, and EnCase).
