Professor Outlines The Risk of Scammers at Edinburgh International Science Festival

Professor Bill Buchanan, who leads The Cyber Academy, outlined some of his viewpoints on the methods that scammers use to trick people, and, along the way, outlined some of the science behind Cyber Security. 

He introduced the audience to Bob and Alice, and, unfortunately, Eve, and outlined some of the most up-to-date methods that scammers can use to trick people and security systems. This will include basic methods such as phishing and vhishing to ransomware attacks. 

Over the past week, The Cyber Academy has contributed to the Edinburgh International Science Festival. Some pictures of their work over the past week is here.

The event was held at the National Museum of Scotland on Thursday 6 April 2017.
