At Edinburgh Napier University, engagement with industry, communities and citizens is at the core of our work. To fully defined how best to set in place processes, people and purpose, the university hosted an event at the Craiglockhart Campus, and which was facilitated by a lead from the NCCPE (National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement).

The all-day event thus focused on the key areas of social responsibility, knowledge exchange and sharing, engaged teaching and public engagement with research, and on the requirement for universities to be reflective; empathic; and responsive.

More information on the conclusions of the event are here:

Within the debate, The Cyber Academy, within the School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University, was highlighted as an example of good practice in terms of engagement with industry, communities and citizens.
