EU Coordination Action FOCAS is rated Excellent at its final review in Brussels

The EU Coordination Action FOCAS was a 3 year project that started in 2013 to coordinate research in the field of Collective Adaptive Systems.

The project was awarded a rating of Excellent at its final review in Brussels on April 19th.

During the 3 year project, a number of activities took place, relating to:
  • Community Building
  • Public Dissemination
  • Training (delivering a book and an app (Android/IoS)
  • Defining a future Research Agenda
  • Developing International Networks outside of Europe

FOCAS is a coordination action in the area of collective adaptive systems. It provides increased visibility to the research carried out by projects funded by the FOCAS FET Proactive Initiative and others in research fields related to collective adaptive systems.
Bio-inspired Computing
The Bio-Inspired Algorithms group within the Centre for Algorithms, Visualisation and Evolving Systems is a large and thriving group with interests in nature-inspired computing that include Evolutionary Computing, Hyper-Heuristics, Artificial Immune Systems and Swarm Intelligence.
