UrbanIxD & OrganiCity

From urban visions to future cities

In the future, people’s data, about their networks and the places they inhabit, will be captured by their own personal devices. As a result of this escalation, people will be overwhelmed by data, unsure of trusting their own instincts and how to make sense of it.

When decisions and perceptions will be increasingly driven by data, what is the role of human judgment and intuition? Visit our booth and let the interactive Techno Shamen perform your digital data diagnosis. Using ritual intuition, the Shamen draws from a pre-data dependent age to see meaning that lies hidden between the bits and bytes.

The UrbanIxD FET Open project investigated the smart city from a citizen-centred perspective, creating "design fictions" that form the basis of a series of public exhibitions called “City | Data | Future, Interactions in hybrid urban space”.

OrganiCity is a new EU project that puts people at the centre of the development of future cities.
