Sally Smith appointed Dean of School for the School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier

Sally Smith has been appointed as Dean of School at the School of Computing.

Edinburgh Napier University has been structuring itself around Schools, and which report directly to senior management, providing much greater control of research, commercialisation and teaching.

In 2014 Sally was elected Chair of the Council of Professors and Heads of Computing, a UK-wide body established to promote computing in higher education. She is also on a Department of Business Innovation and Skills-led steering group looking at positive destinations for computer science graduates.

Sally represented Scottish universities on an SQA group developing the new Curriculum for Excellence school awards for computing and is on the board of Computing at Schools established to promote excellence in computing teaching in schools across the UK.

She has also been included on the Top 100 Tech Influencers wiithin Scotland for the past two years [news]
