The partnership between Bright Red Publishing and Edinburgh Napier University continues to showcase the best of knowledge transfer, with over 6,000 pupils registered on the innovative Digital Zone.

The Web infrastructure includes a number of innovative features, including automated parsing of the content and tests, and questions with ever changing content, along with a range of unique calculators, which allow pupils to check their answers.

New material includes an advanced language processor which can translate from a wide range of languages to and from English.

John MacPherson, who defined the vision for the Digital Zone, has said "The site has exceeded our expectations, and we see benefits not only for pupils in Scotland, but for our core business. The development of the new books for Curriculum for Excellence has thus allowed us to fully integrate the material into the Digital Zone.

Our aim is now to continue the collaboration onto mobile content, including for Android and Apple iOS and for N6 content. Also we will continue to work with the research team to continue research on learning profiles."

The collaboration is pardtly funding by a Scottish Funding Council Follow-on Innovation Voucher.
