Centre for Social Informatics staff to present at Research into Practice conference


Director of the Centre for Social Informatics Professor Hazel Hall and research student Leo Appleton have accepted invitations to speak at a one-day conference that brings together information science researchers and practitioners in Aberdeen on 22nd April 2014.

Professor Hall will give an overview of the research that is undertaken by the Centre for Social Informatics, serve on a panel session in the afternoon, and deliver the final plenary presentation of the day on the theme of closing the research-practice gap. Leo Appleton will update delegates on his doctoral study in a presentation on public libraries, social capital and citizenship.

The event is organised by CILIP Scotland and Information Science Scotland, and chaired by Christine Irving. part-time Research Fellow within the Centre for Social Informatics.
