Hazel Hall serves as invited panel member to review the impact of RCUK's £230 million investment in the Digital Economy programme

18/05/2012

From Sunday 13th to Friday 18th May 2012 Professor Hazel Hall served as an invited panel member to review the impact of RCUK's £230 million investment in the Digital Economy programme.

The panel assessed the extent to which the theme (and associated research) has:
  • Delivered tangible benefits (impact) to the UK in areas identified to be of strategic importance to the UK economy, UK society and the UK research community
  • Shown international excellence in respect of originality, significance, rigour and exploitation of research and training
  • Added value and accelerated progress beyond what would have been achieved without the theme.

At the end of the six-day review period the panel delivered a report which identified further opportunities to maximize the impact of the theme and made recommendations to the UK research community and Research Councils as to the means by which this may be accomplished.
