The safi.re team will exhibit its novel governance product at EIE 2013 on 9 May 2013 at the Assembly Rooms on George Street, Edinburgh. At present safi.re focuses on providing trust and governance applied to data access, and is being trialled with a number of projects.

IIDI research related to the sa.fire project has contributed to a new white paper on creating trusted data governance across domains and sectors. The paper is published by miiCard, an innovative Scottish-based company, which specialises in highly trusted identity provision.

The research team and miiCard aim to outline their novel information sharing architecture at the Cyber Security and Privacy (CSP) EU Forum 2013 in Brussels on 18/19 April 2013. CSP is a collaboration between the European Association for e-Identity and Security (EEMA) and Trust in Digital Life (TDL).

Professor Bill Buchanan and Richard Lewis helped set up a conference entitled Health and Social Care in the Digital Age at the Scottish Parliament held last Monday 25th February 2013. The invitation-only event involved 60 of the key influencers within health and social care in Scotland.

IIDI team files patent on improved information sharing using Binary Decision Diagrams (BDDs)
IIDI's William Buchanan, Omair Uthmani and Alistair Lawson have filed a patent on improved information sharing using Binary Decision Diagrams (BDDs). The patent describes a unique method of modelling governance policies for information sharing, and defines how anomalies, rule shadowing etc.

IIDI selects miiCard as identity provider for safi.re-based information sharing governance
Online identity verification company miiCard has announced that it will verify digital identities for IIDI-developed online healthcare and childcare protection initiatives. IIDI will use miiCard’s Level of Assurance 3 (LOA3) identity-proofing service to safeguard sensitive healthcare and user data.

Owen Lo to receive a Student of the Year award
Owen Lo, currently studying for his PhD on e-Health within the Cloud4Health Cloud based platform, is to receive the FECCI Student of the Year award. It will be awarded on 15 Nov 2012. The day before this event he is also attending the BCS Best Not-for-Project Award in London.
