Research Activities I/Net
01/09/2010 - 31/07/2016
Information Management and Presentation for Research Activity and Related Data.
A linked intranet and internet solution for the managing and presentation of data concerning the research related activties of university researchers. This solution is being used by a number of university research departments.
The intranet site enables researchers themselves or admin staff to record and manage a wide range of data concerning researchers, research departments, projects, publications, news, events, PhD involvement, and CPDs. This data is then used for internal management, reporting to external bodies and to populate a data-rich public facing website. Reporting facilities are used for the usable and practical generation of monthly and ad-hoc reports for management purposes. An integrated wiki facility is used to disseminate related information and support collaboration among researchers.
This project is ongoing with additional functionality being incorporated and existing functionality revised to investigate methods of improving user experience, data quality and data presentation.
Research Activities I/Net is a Other Non Commercial Projects project funded by Edinburgh Napier University.
Carried out in collaboration with and others.
