The Edinburgh Physiotherapy Centre Ltd is looking at using its experience to produce an online web physio service for use
of the general public and sports related bodies. They require help to develop a
site which will include a 3D body avatar which can be used for diagnosis of
problems via a healthcare IT programme diagnosis tool. By interacting with the
academics the aim is to produce a body avatar and software programme to allow
the company expertise to be brought to a wider audience.
The benefits to the
company and the economy will be the potential for for use by public organisations such as the NHS for
treating minor muscular ailments without costly consultancy meetings. Figures
suggest that up to 40% of GP time is associated with muscular/skeletal
ailments.
The outputs will be
a website with an avatar prototype and a plan for diagnosis platform.
IIDI is working with the Edinburgh Physiotherapy Centre Ltd supported by the SFC Innovation Voucher scheme.
