The Institute for Informatics and Digital Innovation (previously known as CIR, the Centre for Informatics Research) is an umbrella research centre within the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Creative Industries and acts as a focus for the the research centres below. Research covers a wide range of areas and projects which cross the research centres.
The research in the Centre was submitted to 3 Units of Assessment in the 2008 RAE:
- UoA 23 Computer Science, Informatics
- UoA 37Library and Information Management and
- UoA 27 Civil Engineering
The overall profile of our research was 4* 2%, 3*26%, 2*54%, 1* 19% This equates to over 80% of our research being Internationally recognised and some of our research being World Leading.
